| How does it work? The affirm gently treats the problem area with enhancing micro-pulses of light, which helps simultaneously stimulate and remodel the skin's natural production of collagen, making the skin appear more youthful while helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. The Affirm is specifically designed to diminish the effects of aging of the skin. The system also treats discoloration, a common condition associated with aging skin and over-exposure to the skin. Am I a candidate? The best candidates for the Affirm treatments are any individuals who have wrinkle concerns, sun damage, redness, acne scarring, stretch marks. All skin types may be treated with the Affirm anti-aging laser. What does the treatment feel like? When being treated with the Affirm, you may experience a slight prickly or light stinging sensation. Remember that everyone is different and what one person considers bothersome another may not mind at all. It all depends on individual sensitivity or tolerance to the stimulation. Most people tolerate the treatment just fine. How many treatments are required? Results vary with each case. To achieve optimal results, we recommend 6 to 8 treatments, 3 to 4 weeks apart. Each session will last from 15 to 30 minutes. Are there any side effects? After the treatment, redness and some slight swelling may occur, typically lasting anywhere from 12 hours to 2 days. A tan or dusky appearance of the skin can also appear in some patients and may last for 2 to 3 weeks. How long do results last? Just like the aging process itself, this varies from person to person. However, if you take steps to protect and preserve your freshly rejuvenated skin—such as using SPF sunscreen, facial cleansers and creams—the results will last longer. |
