| The Photofacial technology is designed to remove hyper-pigmentation in the skin associated with sun damage (brown or red spots), age spots, redness-associated to the sun, acne or rosacea. It also removes broken capillaries, little red veins typically around the nose and cheeks. The Photofacial can also help stimulate collagen production to aid in the reduction of pore size, as well as softening of fine lines. Benefits
Areas to be Treated Lesions most commonly appear on the face, neck, chest or upper legs. These are areas usually exposed to sunlight. Both men and women who have lighter skin tones tend to have more visible lesions. Suspicious spots will need to be checked by a dermatologist before any cosmetic laser procedure. Up Close |

| Frequently Asked Questions What is PhotoLightFACIAL? The PhotoLight is a “non-ablative” treatment for the skin that minimizes the signs of aging and sun-damage by removal of brown spots, pigment, red veins and the “blush” of rosecea. What is “non-ablative”? A “non-ablative” treatment leaves your skin intact and undamaged. The pulse emits light that passes easily through the upper layers of your skin to the unwanted red and brown pigment underneath. The light is absorbed by these pigments and transformed into heat that damages the irregularities. As an additional benefit, you skin’s collagen framework is enhanced. How many treatments can I expect? We recommend about 4-6 treatments every 3 weeks to achieve desired results. Because every skin condition is different, we require a consultation with one of our skin care professionals during which a treatment plan will be discussed. How long does a treatment take? A full Photolight treatment only takes 20-30 minutes. What does it feel like? It may feel like a rubber band snap on your skin, but the feeling is very tolerable. Unlike most pulsed light systems, no numbing creams or gels may be required. What can I expect after treatment? It may feel like a mild sunburn for a few days following the treatment. In some cases, it may look like a superficial burn, and in rare cases, a blister may appear. It is very important to follow all post treatment instructions and to stay out of the sun for at least a 4 week period pre and post treatment to avoid damage to the treated area. If you cannot avoid sun exposure, a sunscreen of at least 30 SPF should be used. |
